Kalsi village lies at the juncture of the Tons and Yamuna rivers. The  Kalsi is a lesser-known village near Ponta Sahib Gurudwara.  Kalsi was once a popular small town in Uttarakhand. Though the time turned back to make it is a peaceful little village.

Today, Kalsi is not as famous as other villages, it is the best place for solitary travel.  From riverside picnics to angling and river rafting to hiking, there’s something for everyone.

  • Rock Edicts of  King Ashoka The Ashokan Rock Edicts are on the riverbank. A structure of the bricks boasts a 2,200 years-old rock edict of Emperor Ashok.

2- Kukucchina Village

This tiny village sits at an elevation of 1800 meters at the Dunagiri hills in the Kumaon division of Uttarakhand Himalayas.  This village has much mythological & historical significance.

  • Mahavatar Babaji cave -It is the very place where Mahavatar Babaji appeared & gave teaching on Kriya Yoga. Now, the village is frequently visited by the Kriya Yoga followers. Kukuchhina has scenic waterfalls, stone cottages, and the Dunagiri goddess temple.
  • Pnadavakholi – The legend is that Pandavas ( The mythological characters of Mahabharata)  spent some time here while they were in exile.
  • Goddess Dunagiri Temple – The temple is considered Shakti Peetha out of 51 Shakti Peetha across India,  is devoted to the goddess Dunagari Mata.
