Kunjapuri Camping Trip- The gentle uphill trek from Tapovan to Kunjapuri Temple inside the untouched jungle is probably one of the best trek in Rishikesh.
More than 9 km trek up to 6176 m of altitude makes the trek amazing, the scenery on the way up is just wow and hence it has proved ideal trail for all kinds of adventures lovers. October to March are the best period to beat this trail, and, I am sure it fascinates you a lot, the terrain welcomes monsoon from May to August.
This Tapovan- Kunjapuri trail is primarily a small river valley walk through interior jungles and Rudra waterfall.Later, the trail settles into steep trekking trail on the ridge in the dense jungles, you come across three villages, the last one is the Badhera village.
If you are on this trail, you can expect to sight some of the wildlife, for birding this trail is not less than a paradise. Watching setting Sub over the wide landscape of Doon vallley is jaw-opening experince you will take away.
Early Morning, waking up with birds songs & ringing bell of the temple, make you feel awesome, in addition watching soring sun over the deep horizon of Himalayan peaks, is a divine experience, glorifying the morning with meditation & breathing with nature.

The Kunjapuri Trip provides mesmerizing views of both the sunset and sunrise while you enjoy moderate trekking trails with an opportunity to see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas in the distance. The temple terrace is perfect for some peace and quiet or for meditation as you watch the sunset over the mountains - it's an experience you won't soon forget!
You set out in the morning to take 9 km uphiil moderate trek from the Tapovan to Kunjapuri along the river valley, passing through Swami Samarpan Ashram, Ram Temple, Omkarananda Ashram, Rudra waterfall, Barkot village, Badhera village. En-route stop-off at Barkot village for lunch. Later, you reach the temple top after 9 km / 4 hrs moderate trekking, you get leisure time for personal activities like prayer, meditation, observing silence, after the sunset in the deep misty summits & camp at Kunjapuri Temple, dinner & overnight. If you love to camp in the village, there is option to camp in Barkot village.
After witnessing the beautiful sunrise over the Himalayan peaks and having breakfast, you'll start your 12 km long trek downhill through Pater Village. & Neergarh waterfall, Enjoy an adventurous and serene hike on an unmanned road, trekking through rain-water made trails among tall grasses, and marvel at a three-tiered waterfall that creates a large pond of water, where you can swim. Later, continue your trek towards Rishikesh and finish your hiking journey at Tapovan in Rishikesh..
