Neem Karoli Baba Ashram in Rishikesh – Uttarakhand

The Neem Karoli Baba Ashram in Rishikesh is a beautiful place situated only 6 kilometers away from Ramjhula Bridge. Those who are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives will find solace in this location as it offers a serene and natural atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation and reflection.

The Ashram is located on National Highway 58 between Haridwar and Rishikesh and is only a 4-kilometer drive from the Rishikesh down town. The airport is located 30 kilometers away from Jolly Grant Dehradun Airport, making this location easily accessible for those who are coming from out of town.

  • The Ashram was built after the Mahasamadhi of Babaji in 1973. Babaji’s disciples, Sri Siddhi Ma and Jivant Maa helped to build the Ashram which covers an area of about 5 acres at Virbhadra Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.
  • Maharajji used to love to  chant the Sri Hanuman Chalisa at Bajrang Temple  ” Sita Ram Sita Ram Sita Ram Kahiye”

The Ashram Feature

  • The temple most dedicated to Lord Hanuman was built on 10 July 1984 and is highly revered among the other four temples.
  • The main temple features a large statue of the god Hanuman, towering approximately 42 ft. from the ground level.
  • Baba Neem Karoli Ji Maharaj had a great love and respect for his mother Siddi Maa and her wife Jivanti Maa. In fact, he dedicated two small rooms to them on the premises of his ashram. Additionally, there is a beautiful temple on the right corner of the ashram that has been built in their honor..
  • Apart from temples and statues, the primary school which is a part of the temple but runs by the state government of Uttarakhand is also a beautiful sight.

Haridwar to Kainchi Dham Distance

Kainchi Dham is located in the Nainital district, about 242 km from Haridwar. The ashram was established by Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Baba Ram. It was founded in 1928 and is situated on a hill called Kainchi, which means “in the middle of the forest.” This sacred hill is also called Gyan Parvat in the Himalayas. Kainchi is a peaceful place surrounded by beautiful green scenery.

The journey from Haridwar to Kainchi Dham takes approximately 5 hours and 50 minutes. The driving distance between the two points is 242 kilometers or 150.4 miles. The driving time includes a few short breaks along the way. The journey typically starts around 7.00 AM and ends at 12.00 pm.

How To Reach

  • By Road-  It is on the NH 58 if you travel from Rishikesh, just take the NH 58, drive towards Haridwar from Rishikesh, after 6 km motor drive from Rishikesh,  at Hanuman Chowk, on the right, there is  Ashram.
  • By Air-  from Jolly Grant Airport,  the Ashram is about 30 km.
  • By Rail –  Get off at Yog Nagari Railway Station at Rishikesh, and take an Auto or a private cab to drop off at Hanuman Chowk near Vibhadra IDPL.
