This guide will help you navigate the trail and find the two main waterfall tiers.

How to Get to Garud Chatti Waterfall Rishikesh

My Experience

Hiking to Garud Chatti Waterfall from Rishikesh was a wonderful day spent exploring the surrounding forests. Here’s what you can expect at the two main waterfalls and the nearby limestone caves:

Tier 1: Lower Falls

Location: 30°07’21.9″N 78°21’09.4″E

The main tier of Garud Chatti Waterfall is a plunging fall lies around a bend in the limestone cliff. There’s a shallow, waist-deep freshwater pool here, perfect for a refreshing dip. The waterfall stands approximately 6-7 meters tall, with a steady stream flowing out from the middle, creating a picturesque scene.

Garud Chatti Limestone Caves

GPS Coordinates: 30°07’21.9″N 78°21’07.8″E

Just above the first waterfall, you’ll find wide limestone caves to explore. While not very deep, these caves offer interesting geological formations, making them a pleasant stop on the hike. They’re also great for taking unique photos, although I didn’t encounter any bats inside.

Tier 2: Upper Tier with Pool

GPS Coordinates: 30°07’21.8″N 78°21’06.8″E

The second tier of Garud Chatti Waterfall is, in my opinion, the best. It’s often secluded and receives more sunlight in the afternoon. Although smaller than the main waterfall, it features a deep swimming hole at its base—a perfect spot for a refreshing swim and relaxation. During our visit, we enjoyed this peaceful spot mostly to ourselves.
