Does it Snowfall in Rishikesh? Understanding the Climate

There is no snowfall in Rishikesh. Normally, snowfall is at higher altitudes in the Himalayas. Visit places such as Auli, Chopta, Dhanaulti, and Mussoorie, which are above 2,000 meters.  It gets pretty hot here in the summertime because we’re at such a low altitude. Despite all of this, there are plenty of other places to visit whenever you want to take a break from the heat in Uttarakhand!

Snowfall in Rishikesh in January

One of the unique aspects of Rishikesh is that it doesn’t experience snowfall in winter. This fact may surprise those who assume that all of Uttarakhand, being a mountainous region, gets constant snowfall. However, this characteristic sets Rishikesh apart from other cities in the state. Despite being a popular winter destination, Rishikesh remains snowfall-free.
