Overview
Embark on an exciting adventure called the Gaumukh Trek, which lasts for 6 days. This trek starts from Rishikesh and goes through places like Harshil, Gangotri Temple, Gomukh, Gangotri glacier, Bagori Vilage, Gangnanai hot water spring, Uttarakashi town and the Himalayas. The main aim of this journey is to reach the source of the Ganges River, which is considered a spiritual place.
During the trek, you’ll experience the beauty of high altitudes and also connect with the local culture. You’ll walk through charming villages Chirbasa, Bhojwasa, Lal Baba Ashram and stunning landscapes. The best part is that you can interact with the people living there and learn about their way of life.
The journey begins in Rishikesh and goes through Harshil, a cozy village. This village is special because it mixes Hindu and Buddhist cultures. You can explore this blend by visiting their temples and learning about their traditions. Harshil is also home to an old Buddhist community. You can see their Buddhist Temple along with Hindu temples. Overall, this village has many interesting things to offer for you to enjoy.
