Shri Jaintapuri Temple lies on the mountaintop in the Kota village near to Rishikesh, is a quiet desolate remote typical Himalayan village. It is at a height of 1400 meters from the sea level. The trek is the only way to reach this quaint Shri Jaintapuri temple & Kota village from Rishikesh. The expedition of Shri Jaintapuri is a mix of walking and trekking into the woods along the river Ganges about 15 km with the whooping sounds the Ganges River all the way, from one mountaintop to another mountaintop, is an enchanting trek for every eco-activist & adventure lovers. The village is living by an amount of 350 people, the place is an absolute blissful for enthusiastic trekkers.

Including a visit of Phool Chatti Ashram, a small the natural cave used for meditation, crossing a Himalayan wooden bridge, bird ‘eye views of the river Ganges, a halt at small village living by only three Himalayan families, a cup of tea break at a house of local, Shri Jaintapuri mountaintop Temple ( is ideal for camping ), the Kota village Homestay with Himalayan cooking demo classes, in the morning, terrace Yoga & Mediation above the 1400 meter from the sea level, swimming in the river Ganges near to ancient Vashist Cave, crossing an old hanging bridge over the Ganges and a holy visit to an ancient cave of Maharshi Vashist, where you can observe a silence
The villagers are mostly farmers, very hospitable and welcoming nature and you will be thankful for this trek which gives a very local opportunity to feel and live such simple & gentle culture and tradition of welcoming guest in the remote place in the Himalaya. Shri Jaintapuri Village Trek, we conduct as a full-day trek tour (8 to 9 Hrs). We start after breakfast around 08:00 AM, and proceed in the private transport to Phool Chatti Ashram, after paying a visit to Phool Chatti Ashram, start trekking expedition along the bank of the Ganges, After visiting attractions & activities and then you will back to Rishikesh in a mode of private transport as per the scheduled itinerary. Day 1 : Rishikesh- Phool Chatti – Kota Village (9 km | 3-4 Hrs)
After arrival in Rishikesh, you will proceed in the private transport up to Phool Chatti ( 5 km) and then your trekking activities will start just after visiting Phool Chatti Ashram. Stunning trails take you into the ardent forest along the bank of the Ganges with sounds of gurgling the river Ganges. The Himalaya & the Ganges will keep you hooked 3 to 4 hours up till the tail end of trek, before reaching in the village, you get a couple of minutes to enjoy a cup of tea in the midst of endless range of mountain peaks and have the first interaction with locals, after that you arrive in the village, have leisure time and cooking demo course, dinner and lights off.Day 2 : Kota Village – Vashist Cave – Rishikesh (6 km | 2 Hrs)
Today, wake with the rising sun across the deep misty mountains, a spellbound vista of Himalaya with chirping sound of the Himalayan birds and a Surya Namaskar & Mediation, then a simple organic breakfast, later enjoy the farming activity and daily life of locals. In the afternoon, then in the noontime, after having a brunch, trek down towards Vashist Cave, en-route, comes a point on the bank of the river, where you get a chance to take a deep /swimming, then continue trekking through the lush green forest up to the cave by crossing the river through a classical hanging bridge, the taxi driver will pick you up from the bridge point and drive you away for the cave visit, where you spend free time for meditation,etc. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Rishikesh.
