What to carry for Rishikesh Trip:

Summer (October to May):

  • Two or three short-sleeve cotton T-shirts or shirts.
  • One pair of half pants and one pair of long pants (cargo pants are great due to multiple pockets and quick-dry quality).
  • Avoid carrying excessive stakes.

Winter (November to February):

  • When picking winter clothes in India, here are some fun things to think about:
    1. Fabrics: You can choose soft and warm materials like wool, cashmere, and silk. Wool is really good at keeping you warm and lasts a long time. Cashmere feels super soft and fancy, like a cozy blanket! Silk is smooth and feels nice against your skin.
    2. Layers: It’s like wearing a warm cake! First, you wear base layers like thermals that keep the cold out and the warmth in. Then, you can put on a hoodie or sweatshirt as a middle layer to feel extra snug.
    3. Footwear: Boots are great for winter because they cover your feet and keep them warm. It’s like giving your feet a warm hug!
    4. Sweaters: Everyone loves wearing sweaters in winter! You can wear them with trousers or jeans. They make you look stylish and keep you cozy.
    5. Long Sleeves: Wearing long sleeves helps protect your arms from the cold. It’s like wrapping your arms in warmth!
    6. Shawl: Instead of a dupatta, you can use a shawl. You can wrap it around you like a superhero cape!
    7. Leather: Leather is great because it keeps you warm and blocks the wind. You can wear warm clothes underneath, just like a superhero has their special suit!

What to Wear to Hot Yoga in Rishikesh

When it comes to hot yoga, wearing the right outfit can make a big difference in your comfort and performance. Here’s a simple guide based on my go-to outfits and some additional tips:

Yoga Pants or Yoga Shorts:

  • Yoga Pants: I prefer wearing tight-fitting yoga pants, even in hot yoga classes, because they provide better grip for certain poses. My favorite pants are the Lululemon Align Pants.
  • Yoga Shorts: While I found shorts to make my legs slippery due to sweat, some people find them comfortable. If you prefer shorts, choose ones that work best for you.

Sports Bra:

  • Choose a sports bra with moisture-wicking fabric to keep you dry and comfortable. Avoid cotton. My favorite is the On Performance Bra. It holds everything in place and has a higher neckline for better coverage.

Yoga Shirt or Tank Top:

  • I recommend wearing tank tops for hot yoga. They allow more freedom of movement and help keep you cool. Look for moisture-wicking and quick-drying fabrics. Loose-fitting tank tops are great for better airflow and are easier to remove after class.
