Don’t Confuse

Dorothy’s Seat and Tiffin Top are separate spots, with Tiffin Top Nanital being en route to Dorothy’s Seat. Named in memory of Dorothy Kellet, an English artist, is a favorite spot for photography, and hiking. There are actually 5-6 points along this route. These spots are not accessible by road, so most people start from the parking lot below and take horses to reach them. However, the locals with horses often discourage walking.

What to See

The view from there is breathtaking! You’ll be amazed by the snow-clad peaks of Trishul, Nanda Devi, and the Panchchuli range in their early-morning magnificence. To your left, you can see Naina Peak and Camel’s Hump, while in the middle, the town of Nainital with its lovely lake at its heart unfolds before you.

You’ll also spot Raj Bhawan, the golf course, and the schools—St. Joseph, Sherwood, and All Saint’s—nestled amid vast, lush green forests. The observatory, poised atop a hill and surrounded by trees, completes this unforgettable picture.
