New Adventures Trails

Beyond the Narmada River, the state is gearing up to connect various destinations through inter-state Narmada River cruises. Plans are underway to link the serene Rajghat Dam near Chanderi in MP to Deogarh in Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, long-distance intra-state cruises will be introduced, promising an alternative and scenic way to explore the heart of India.

For the adventure enthusiasts, 2024 brings the promise of new trekking trails in the buffer zones of national parks and sanctuaries. Biking trails and car rallies will also feature prominently, with a special highlight – “The Queens on the Wheel,” an all-women seven-day biking event set to explore the historic route from Bhopal to Orchha.

Connectivity and Wellness Retreats

Madhya Pradesh recognizes the importance of connectivity for seamless travel experiences. Plans are underway to reintroduce small aircraft under public-private participation, facilitating easier access to various destinations.

The state is also set to become a haven for wellness vacations. A series of 12 yoga and meditation retreats are on the cards for the first year, with plans to expand to 24 and 36 in the subsequent years. These retreats, hosted in select hotels owned by the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, promise holistic rejuvenation beyond the physical realm.

Offbeat  Rural Experiences

In 2024, Madhya Pradesh aims to connect at least 10 unexplored destinations with mainstream tourism. The focus is not only on exploring new places but also on building sustainable infrastructure around these hidden gems. Glamping sites, offering camping with top-notch amenities, will be expanded to make them more tourist-friendly.

Rural tourism takes center stage, with the state planning to increase the number of homestays to over 500. New and innovative village life experiences will be introduced, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the authentic rural charm of Madhya Pradesh.

Empowering Women in Tourism

Safety and inclusivity are top priorities for Madhya Pradesh tourism in 2024. The state is actively involved in mass skilling initiatives for women in hospitality-related roles. Over 4,000 women have already been trained, and the plan is to absorb more of them into the hotel and travel industry, ensuring a safer and more welcoming environment for all travelers.

Conclusion

After weathering the storm of the pandemic, Madhya Pradesh’s tourism industry is not just bouncing back; it’s soaring to new heights. With an array of new experiences, from river cruises to rural retreats, 2024 promises to be a year where every traveler can find their unique adventure in the heart of India.
