Devotees make offerings of “Panchamrit” and flowers to the goddess-like Ganga. The air resonates with the melodious Aarti song dedicated to the river, amplified through loudspeakers. Pandits, holding special copper “Diya,” offer their prayers during this sacred hymn.

Har Ki Pauri

Har Ki Pauri is a really special place in Haridwar! A long time ago, a king named Vikramaditya built the beautiful bathing ghats there to remember his brother, Bhatrihari, who came to meditate in Haridwar.

Legend says that Lord Vishnu, a super important god, once visited a spot called Brahmkund at Har Ki Pauri. There’s even a giant footprint in a stone wall that people believe belongs to Lord Vishnu! Isn’t that cool?

Every day, lots and lots of people come here to take a holy dip in the Ganga River. It’s like a big tradition! And the best part? Every evening, there’s a magical ceremony called Ganga Aarti.

During Ganga Aarti, many devotees gather to chant prayers and sing songs to honor the Ganga, which is the holiest river in India. The high priests wear white clothes and lead the whole ceremony. It looks so beautiful!
