Chamba Tehri Garhwal – A Boutique Hamlet

Chamba Tehri Garhwal is nestled in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, Chamba is a small hamlet that lies in the celestial Garhwal Himalayas. This idyllic town is perched at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level and is enveloped by thick woodlands.

History

It was once a part of the Gorkha Kingdom, but it was later conquered by the Garhwal Kingdom. When World War I came around, some of the brave soldiers who fought in it were from Chamba, including Victoria Cross recipient Gabar Singh Negi.
