There is an airport in Rishikesh which is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. If you fly from Jaipur or Delhi to Rishikesh, you will arrive at Jolly Grant Airport and then need to hire a cab or taxi to reach Rishikesh.
- Three airlines offer direct flights from Jaipur to Dehradun: SpiceJet, IndiGo, and Air India.
- A non-stop flight to Jolly Grant Airport takes about 1 hour and 35 minutes. I always prefer direct flights to save time, even if they cost more.
- Jaipur to Dehradun flight time: The earliest flight is by SpiceJet at 6:35 AM, and the last flight is by Air India at 2 PM. There are no flights after 2 PM, so you would need to wait until the next day.
- Jaipur to Dehradun flight distance is approx. 440 km , requires 1 hour 35 minutes to reach Rishikesh from Jaipur.
Jaipur to Rishikesh flight ticket price ranges from ₹4,000 to ₹8,000, depending on the airline. Frequent travelers often book in advance to get cheaper rates, which is what I do. Air India is more expensive and has poor service, so I prefer private airlines like IndiGo and SpiceJet.

Note: Train tickets should be booked at least one to two months in advance. Otherwise, you might have to rely on a ticket agent to buy last-minute tickets, which can cost double and have fewer chances of availability.

If you’re traveling in a group, a tempo traveler is a good option. These vehicles seat 15 to 17 people and can be fun for group trips. However, space can be cramped. Travelers charge about INR 20 to INR 25 per km, not including state tolls and taxes. This option is expensive for small groups but great for larger ones.
