Discover 5 Minutes Skyway By Dharamshala to McLeodganj Ropeway

It will now be possible to travel from Dharamshala to McLeodganj in just 5 minutes via the new ropeway route that was recently inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

As per the reports, the ropeway, known as the Dharamshala Skyway. It spans  around 1.8 km and has been built at an estimated cost of more than INR 207 crores.

With the said ropeway, travellers can travel from Dharamshala to McLeodganj, while enjoying scenic aerial views of towns. Reportedly, the ropeway has the capacity of carrying 1000 persons every hour.

Highlights of Project

One of the highlights of the ropeway journey is the scenic views passengers can enjoy.  Dharamshala to McLeodganj Skyline offers the panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscapes provide a unique and memorable experience. The top station of the ropeway is strategically located in front of the Dalai Lama Temple, making it a convenient drop-off point for tourists.

Cost of the Project

During the peak tourist season, the road that connects Dharamshala and McLeodganj witnesses frequent traffic jams; however, now the ropeway will cut down the travel time by around 40 per cent. The Dharamshala to McLeodganj Ropeway  project estimates  about INR 207 crore, and that it has two stations and 10 towers.

Two Stations

The top station is installed  in front of the Dalai Lama Temple. The ropeway uses Mono Cable Detachable Gondolas Technology, a proven and effective urban transport method used in several Western countries.

Dharamshala to McLeodganj Ropeway Ride Price

Note that one way tariff for travelling in this ropeway from Dharamshala to McLeodganj is INR 300 per person, while the two way tariff is INR 500 per person.
