Embarking on a trek from Kasar Devi to Jageshwar temples unveils a tapestry of natural beauty and cultural heritage woven intricately across the Himalayan landscape of Kumaon region. Over four days, we traversed through picturesque villages, lush forests, and ancient temples, each step immersing us deeper into the heart of Uttarakhand’s enchanting wilderness.

Day 1: Kasar Devi to Deora

The journey began with a 4.5-hour walk, covering 12 kilometers of gentle terrain. Descending from Kasar Devi, we meandered past village houses and verdant farmlands, tracing the path of a tranquil river.

Amidst terraced fields, we encountered exquisite Shiva temples, a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage. As the day unfolded, we ascended gentle ridges, relishing panoramic views, before retiring in the quaint village of Deora.

Day 2: Deora to Peroli

Day two unfolded with a 5.5-hour trek spanning 8 kilometers of diverse landscapes. Ascending from Deora, we reveled in sweeping vistas of farmland and pine forests.

Traversing along the river’s edge, we encountered an optional shortcut, navigating an irrigation wall with a sense of adventure. After a rejuvenating lunch, a steep climb led us to the picturesque village of Peroli, where we rested amidst panoramic vistas, contemplating the journey thus far.

Day 3: Peroli to Old Jageshwar

With the option of a shorter walk or taxi ride, we chose to blend both, opting for a scenic route towards Old Jageshwar. Driving through lush landscapes, we embarked on a 7-kilometer trek, adorned with majestic mountain views stretching over 300 kilometers.

Passing through pine forests and ascending to a temple perched on a high point, we embraced the tranquility of the Himalayas before delving into rhododendron and deodar forests, culminating in the ancient ambiance of Old Jageshwar.

Day 4: Old Jageshwar to Jageshwar Dham

The final leg of our journey was a serene descent through deodar forests, following a gurgling stream to Jageshwar Dham. Immersed in the aura of ancient temples, we marveled at the architectural splendor before bidding farewell to this sacred enclave.
