Overview

This insightful pilgrimage gives you a diverse extraordinary experiences along with a mesmerizing Himalayan culture, religion, temples & ashrams that takes you to the remote landscapes of the Himalaya in Sri Badrinath Ji the Ganges to Rishikesh to the Himalayan mountains, into the forests of the Himalaya & Maha Avtar Babaji Cave.

Projected Itinerary

Day 01, Arrival at New Delhi International Airport

You will be greeted at New Delhi International Airport. And, transfer in New Delhi Hotel, the rest of the day will be off for rest. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 02, Akshardham Temple & YSS Asharam Noida

You will visit the marvellous Hindu temple Akshardham Temple which is a showcase of Indian art & architecture, supposed to be a cultural and religious centre of New Delhi & well-conceived cultural exhibitions. Later in the afternoon you will visit the YSS Ashram Noida, and return to Hotel. Overnight stay in New Delhi.

Day 03, New Delhi – Kathgodam – Ranikhet

You will take an early morning train from New Delhi railway station to Kathgodam Railway Station, Nainital. The train journey will be of five and a half hours. From Kathgodam railway station, you will travel by surface up to Ranikhet, is a small hill station, known its 360 degrees views of the trans- Himalaya, during the road trip to Ranikhet ( 80 km ) en-route you make a brief visit to Kainchi Dham, Baba Neem Karoli Baba Ashram, to seek a blessing from the immortal Guru. After that, you will reach there, at your hotel, in Ranikhet by 5 pm in the evening. For the next 3 days, we will be making overnights stay here in Ranikhet.

Day 04, Free and Leisure Time

This day you do not move for any scheduled excursion, you take your free time to build a relationship with the nature of the Himalaya, take a long walk nearby village, interact with them and make the Himalaya your friend. As being a Hindu, for me, Himalaya is a temple.

Day 05, Mahavatar Babaji Cave, Kukuchina - Kausani Day Excursion

Post breakfast, check-out and you will drive to Kukuchina village, it is a point of beginning your long-awaited spiritual quest to assimilate a divine aura of Mahavatar Babaji’s cave. From Kukuchina, you have a trek of 60-90 minutes to reach Babaji Cave. After reaching there, you get plenty of free time to observe silence in the cave or nearby cave on your own; there is also a Hut of YSS, Dwarahat Ashram. So, you can join the collective meditation retreat. The cave is the place, where, Babaji revived Kriya Yoga through Lahiri Mahasaya. Later, in the afternoon, drive back to Hotel, overnight stay at Hotel in Kausani.

Day 06, Kausani – Bageshwar - Gwaldham

After morning breakfast, check out from the Hotel, drive to Kausani, en-route sightseeing , the Baijnath Dham, a Shiva Temple in Kausani, the Bageshwar Dham, Bag river & temples. Later, drive to Gwaldham, in the late afternoon, check into Hotel of Gwaldham, have free time in the evening to walk nearby places, have a relax, dinner & overnight stay at Hotel in Gwaldham.

Day 07, Gwaldham – Joshimath

Breakfast at Hotel, check out, drive to Joshimath via Gwaldham & Karnprayag. En-route visit Buddhist Gompa Temple in Gwaldham which has a picturesque location at a height of 2000 meter and enjoy and experience the scenic Himalayan nature. It offers a panoramic, 180-degree view of the snow-clad Himalayan Mountains. Later in the afternoon, you will be reaching to Karnprayag, the confluence place of 2 Himalayan holy rivers, the Alaknanda river & Ram Ganga river, later, continue drive to Joshimath, upon arrival at Joshimath, check into Hotel, after that, you have free time to move in this tiny town on your own, have dinner & overnight stay at Hotel in Joshimath.

Day 08, Sri Badrinath Ji – Mana Village ( the last village of India)

Morning breakfast, check out & visit Joshi Math group of temples and the nature-made cave where Adi Shankaracharya meditated, then drive straight to Sri Badrinath Ji. Joshimath is a winter seat of lord Shri Badrinath Ji, for six months the idol of Sri Badrinath Ji is kept in Joshimath Temple. Upon arrival, check into Hotel. Later in the afternoon, drive to the last village of India, that is called “ Mana village”, is populated by the ethnic Tibetan Buddhist people, in the late evening, drives back to Badrinath. Have dinner & overnight stay in Hotel

Day 09, Sri Badrinath Temple & Relax

After breakfast, visit Sri Badri Vishal temple to participate the morning puja and the meeting with the chief priest of the temple, Sri Rawal Ji & rest of the day, you are free to explore the town on your own, Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 10, Sri Badrinath to Rudraprayag Town.

Post breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Rudraprayag, en-route visit Vishnu Prayag, a confluence of two divine Himalayan rivers, Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, is a cave temple, perched on a deep narrow valley between two Himalayan mountains, on the bank of the Alakananda in Rudraprayag. Rudraprayag is a district centre and famous for its religious importance, is a confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini. Later check-in and rest of the day, you have free time to relax. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 11, Rudraprayag to Rishikesh

After breakfast, You will proceed for the Rishikesh, en-route visit, Dhari Devi temple, a floating temple in the Alakananda river, Devprayag, a confluence place of Bhagirathi river & Alaknanda the river along with Raghunath, an ancient temple of Lord Rama, later, travelling down towards Rishikesh town, en-route stop at the sage Vashist Cave, which is located by the river Ganges in the midst of natural settings have free time to observe silence in the cave or those, who wish to take a deep in the river, they can take. After that, drive to Rishikesh, which is at 1-hour distance from the cave, upon arrival in Rishikesh, check-in, dinner & overnight stay.

Day 12, Rishikesh Sightseeing Full-Day

Breakfast at the hotel, first a visit the Divine Life Society Ashram, Swami Sivananda. The ashram houses the Samadhi Shrine of Swami Ji. Here, in the Ashram, you have free time to explore on your own, then drive to the Laxman Jhula, a hanging iron-wired bridge& Kriya Yoga Ashram, Tapovan Saray. Later, drive back to the hotel for the lunch and you have a free time to explore the river on your own till the late afternoon, later, drive and walk for the evening Ganga Aarti of Parmath Niketan. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 13, Rishikesh to Haridwar

Post breakfast, check out from the Hotel, you will board on a one hour journey for Haridwar. In Haridwar, you will go to pay homage to the ashram of Swami Keshavananda, which enshrines a portion of Lahiri Mahasaya’s ashes. Later, you will then proceed to Anandamayee’ Ashram, which houses her Samadhi Shrine. Later, in the late afternoon, we will witness the Ganga Aarti at Hari-Ki-Pauri. After that, drive back to Hotel, check-in. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 14, Haridwar to Varanasi

After breakfast, check out, heading towards Dehradun Airport, where you will fly to Varanasi. Upon arrival at Varanasi Airport, meeting with the company assistance, transfer to hotel in private AC transport, where you will check-into the hotel. In the late afternoon, drive to visit the river Ganges at Dashwasamedh Ghat, a most famous riverbank of the Ganges in Varanasi. Enjoy the sunset with a boat ride on the Ganges along with the burning Ghat and after dark, take part of the evening ceremony, the Ganga Aarti. Later, drive back to the hotel, overnight stay will be in the hotel.

Day 15, Lahiri Mahasaya & Sri Tailang Swami

Early morning visit Ghats of Varanasi to see the sunrise, morning Hindu rituals & rites at the riverbank with a boat ride on the Ganges followed by the heritage walk in the oldest part of Varanasi city. Later drive back to the Hotel for the morning breakfast. Later, visit Sarnath, it is the place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermons to his disciples and had initiated his ascetic companions of the past into monkhood, the place marking the beginning of the Sangha. Late, in the day, we will see the residence of Lahiri Mahasaya (it remains closed for the visitors) and Satyaloka – the ancestral house of the Lahiri's. Satyaloka enshrines a portion of the ashes of Lahiri Mahasaya and that of his son and grandson, the ashram of Sri Anandamayiee and Sri Tailanga Swami temple & Math, and finally, the visit of Varanasi will terminate. Drive back to the hotel, dinner & overnight stay

Day 16, Varanasi to Delhi by flight

Breakfast at the hotel, check out, drive to Varanasi International Airport to fly for Delhi, upon arrival in Delhi, transfer in private transport to the hotel in Delhi or transfer to New Delhi International Airport for onward journey.

Optional Bhubaneswar & Kolkata Tour - Extension

Day 01, Bhubneswar – Puri

Upon arrival at Bhubneswar International Airport, you will be greeted by the company representative and will drive to Puri Hotel by the road after 2 hours surface travel, where you will do check-into hotel. Later, in the remaining time of the day, you will visit the Samadhi Shrine of Totatpuri Maharaj. He was the guru of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. He had explored his last 40 years of his life at this place. You will then drive back to the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 02, Yukteswarji’s Hermitage & Samadhi Shrine & Ashram

Have breakfast at Hotel, then you will drive for a visit Karar Ashram of Swami Sri Yukteswar. This hermitage is a shelter of the Samadhi Shrine of Yukteswarji. After that, you will spend some time at Guru Dham, which was the residential Ashram of Sri Bhupendranath Sanyal. He was an enlightened & closed disciple of Lahiri Mahasaya. After visit above mentioned sites, you will have free time to explore nearby beaches where Swami Yuketeshwar and Paramahansa Yogananda Ji used t spent time together. Drive back to the Hotel, dinner & overnight stay.

Day 03, Konark, the Sun Temple & Kolkata Full-Day

After breakfast & check-out from the hotel in the morning, you will drive to Konark Surya Temple to explore the medieval period Sun Temple, architecturally, this temple is very rich and structurally very big. Surface travel employs about 90 minutes to reach the Konark, sun Temple from Puri Hotel. After the excursion of the Konark, Sun Temple, you will move to the Bhubaneswar Airport to fly for Kolkata. Upon your arrival in Kolkota, check into Hotel. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 04, Sri Yukteshwar Ji and Yogannanda ji Trails in Kolkata

After breakfast, you move in a means of local transport to visit Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Where Paramahansa Yoganandaji realized the divine experience of Goddess Kali in deep meditation here. The living quarter of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, it is supposed to be a very awakened place for spiritual advancement. Later, in the evening, you explore the Nagendra Mutt Ashram – Home of Bhaduri Mahasaya, "The Levitating Saint," friend and mentor to Paramahansa Yogananda in his teen years and after and then, in a late afternoon you pay a visit 4 Garpar Road, a residential house of Sri Yoganandaji. Dinner & overnight stay

Day 05, Serampore, Sri Yukteshwar Giri Ashram and it Neighborhood

Breakfast at Hotel, then, you will move to visit Serampore Ashram ,where Swami Sri Yukteswar lived as Guru in this ashram and where Yogananda lived as a disciple of Sri Yukteswar Giri Ji and Yogananda Ji lived in the hostel of Serampore’s degree college to continue his education. You will walk on all the traces of each place associated with the Kriya Yoga Gurus. The old buildings and villages lanes of Serampore remind you all medieval aura of Serampore & how it was 100 years ago and it will also provide you a memory of the simplicity and unhurried pace of life of the villagers, after that, you will drive back to the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 06, Kolkata – Belur Math- Sri Lahiri Mahasaya’s Ancestral home- Saint Mother Teresa

After breakfast, you move in a means of local transport to visit Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Where Paramahansa Yoganandaji realized the divine experience of Goddess Kali in deep meditation here.
