I haven’t ranked these waterfalls in any particular order because each one offers a unique experience. Whether you prefer a secluded hike or a bustling swimming spot, there’s something for everyone.

1. Neer Garh Waterfalls in Rishikesh

  • Height: Approximately 6-7 meters (20-23 feet)
  • Hike Distance: 1.5 km (0.93 mi) round trip
  • Best for: Swimming and exploring limestone caves

Neer Garh Waterfalls in Rishikesh, situated above the northern banks of the Ganges River, is one of Rishikesh’s most renowned waterfalls. It features multi-tiered cascades with deep swimming holes and picturesque limestone formations.

The lower levels offer more secluded spots, perfect for those seeking tranquility. As you ascend via concrete and dirt paths to the upper tiers, you’ll encounter cafes and a livelier atmosphere with more visitors.

For those interested, hiking beyond the top level leads to elevated viewpoints offering stunning mountain vistas.

2. Garud Chatti Waterfall in Rishikesh

  • Height: Multi-tiered, with tiers ranging up to 25 meters (82 feet)
  • Hike Distance: 4 km (2.49 mi) round trip
  • Best for: Scenic limestone falls and deep swimming holes

Located on the southern banks of the Ganges, Garud Chatti Waterfall offers a multi-tiered cascade experience. Despite being less popular than Neer Garh Waterfall, it still attracts visitors seeking natural beauty and adventure.

After a 1.5 km hike into the Rajaji Forest, you’ll reach the first waterfall. Beyond this, several tiers await exploration, each featuring shallow pools ideal for swimming and enjoying the refreshing waterfall showers.

3. Patna Waterfall in Rishikesh

  • Height: Approximately 15 meters (49 feet)

Located near Garud Chatti Waterfall, Patna Waterfall is a lesser-known gem near Rishikesh. It features a tall limestone cascade gently trickling down a steep cliffside into a shallow pool below.

While not suitable for swimming, the short hike through the Rajaji Forest offers a peaceful and picturesque experience. If you seek a serene waterfall near Rishikesh with scenic vibes, Patna Waterfall is worth exploring.
