At the top, there’s a man with a telescope who charges ₹20, allowing you to enjoy close-up views of the snow-capped Himalayas and take pictures.

However, the hilltop area is heavily commercialized with many shops and a dinosaur park. If you’re not interested in these, head straight to the viewpoint once you arrive. Remember, you only have an hour to explore before taking the ropeway back down.

Snow View Point in Nainital can be accessed either by ropeway or by car or by trekking. From top, there are two different views, one side is a panoramic view of Nainital town and Naini Lake, and other side there are snow covered peaks of the Himalayan range.

In May, the view might be obscured, but locals say the Himalayas are visible from here. There are two viewpoints at this location: one offers views of the Himalayas, and the other shows the lake. From here, you can also see prominent landmarks like Sherwood College and St. Joseph’s College.

Cable Car Price

The ropeway costs ₹350 per person and accommodates ten people per cable car, taking about three minutes each way. At the landing of Snow View Point, you’ll find a games arcade, eating joints, a J&K emporium, and an Uttarakhand textile shop. It’s worth visiting at least once.
