Saryu Aarti: Saryu Ghat Aarti Time in Ayodhya

Saryu (Rigvedic river), a river mentioned in the Rigveda, the Saryu River is incredibly sacred. It says that seeing, touching, or drinking its water can cleanse one of all sins. People from all over the country come to bathe in the holy waters,  and witness its beautiful Saryu Aarti. The Saryu river is so holy that even the goddess Saraswati, known for her wisdom, cannot fully describe its divine greatness.

Origin of the Saryu River

The Saryu (also known as Sarju ) is a significant river in Uttarakhand, India, primarily draining the Central Kumaon region. It originates from Sarmul and passes through the towns of Kapkot, Bageshwar, and Seraghat before joining the Mahakali River at Pancheshwar. As the largest tributary of the Sharda River, the Sarju forms the southeastern border between the districts of Pithoragarh and Almora.

History of Saryu Aarti:

Since 2013, the Anjaneya Seva Sansthan has been conducting the grand Aarti of Maa Saryu on its banks. Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s oath, special grants have supported this sacred ritual. Today, the divine Aarti continues to be performed regularly on the banks of Saryu in Ayodhya.

  • Saryu Aarti Ayodhya Timing:  The evening ceremony is performed between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM on the banks of Saryu in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Ram.

 Significance: Saryu Aarti

It relates intrinsically to Lord Rama and his divine abode. Legend says that Mother Saryu herself comes to this earth to be a part of Lord Rama’s story. It’s a place where the sacred and the divine converge.

Holy Scriptures emphasize the significance of  Saryu Aarti, stating that participating in it can cleanse one of all sins. Additionally, through internal meditation during the ceremony, devotees can experience the divine presence of Mother Saryu river.
