There are no direct bus runs between Rishikesh and Auli

To travel from Rishikesh to Auli, you need to follow these steps:

Rishikesh to Joshimath:

• • There are several buses that run from Rishikesh Bus Stand to Joshimath between 5 AM and 9 AM.
  • The journey from Rishikesh to Joshimath is approximately 253 kilometers and takes about 10-12 hours by bus.

Joshimath to Auli:

• • From Joshimath, you have three options to reach Auli:
    • Bus: Local buses are available, but they may not be frequent.
    • Jeeps/Shared Taxis: These are commonly available and are a quicker option compared to buses.
    • Cable Car (Ropeway): The Auli Ropeway is a popular choice, offering scenic views and connecting Joshimath to Auli directly.

Day 1: Rishikesh – The Gateway to Adventure

• Our journey begins in Rishikesh, renowned for its spiritual ambiance and thrilling adventure sports. After indulging in a hearty breakfast at a local cafe, we visited the iconic Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, the suspension bridges over the holy river Ganges. The serene surroundings and soothing river sounds set the tone for the trip.
• Next, we decided to try white-water rafting on the Ganges, an exhilarating experience that had our adrenaline pumping. The rapids offered the perfect mix of excitement and thrill for adventure enthusiasts.
• In the evening, we attended the Ganga Aarti, a mesmerizing ritual that takes place at the Triveni Ghat. The sight of oil lamps floating in the river was a soul-stirring experience, leaving us in awe of the city’s spiritual essence.

Day 2: Rishikesh to Joshimath – A Scenic Drive

• Early in the morning, we bid farewell to Rishikesh and embarked on a scenic road trip to Joshimath. The journey was filled with captivating views of the Himalayan foothills, winding roads, and charming villages.
• After several hours of driving, we reached Joshimath, a quaint town nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. Here, we enjoyed a warm local meal and relaxed, preparing ourselves for the upcoming adventure in Auli.

Day 3: Auli – Winter Wonderland

• Excitement reached its peak as we took a cable car ride from Joshimath to Auli. The panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, dense forests, and the Nanda Devi peak were awe-inspiring.
• Auli, a paradise for snow sports lovers, offered us an array of activities. We tried skiing and snowboarding on the pristine slopes, and despite a few falls, it was a thrilling experience that left us with unforgettable memories.
• As the sun set, we witnessed a stunning play of colors on the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange. A bonfire under the starlit sky was the perfect end to an adventurous day.

Day 4: Auli – Exploring the Surroundings

• On this day, we explored the nearby attractions, including the charming Gorson Bugyal, a vast meadow surrounded by alpine forests. The trek to Gorson Bugyal was moderate, and the breathtaking views made it worth every step.
• The Auli Artificial Lake was another highlight of the day. The reflection of snow-clad peaks in the pristine waters created a surreal landscape.
• In the evening, we enjoyed a peaceful walk around the Auli village, interacting with locals and learning about their way of life.

Day 5: Auli to Rishikesh – Farewell to the Hills

• As our trip approached its conclusion, we bid adieu to Auli and started our journey back to Rishikesh.
• The drive back was a mix of emotions, as we cherished the memories we made during this remarkable journey.
