Dwarahat to  Mahavatar Babaji’s Cave

The sacred cave, where Mahavatar Babaji initiated Lahiri Mahasaya into Kriya Yoga, is a must-visit for devotees.

  2. Access the Trail: From Kukuchina, take the kutcha road to Rathkhal village and walk/drive for an additional 2 km to the trailhead.
  3. Trek to the Cave: The trek is steep and takes about an hour. The round trip from Dwarahat, including the trek, generally takes around five hours. Carry packed lunch for convenience.
  4. Transport Recommendation: Hire a Bolero taxi or any 4×4 vehicle to navigate the rough 2 km stretch leading to the trail. Road improvement work is expected to start soon.
