Jolingkong to Kuti Village: A Remarkable Experience on the Adi Kailash Route

The journey from Jolingkong to Kuti Village is one of the most spiritually uplifting and visually breathtaking sections of the Adi Kailash Yatra. Surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, sacred lakes, and ancient pilgrimage trails, this route offers a rare blend of devotion, adventure, and raw Himalayan beauty.

Located deep in the Pithoragarh district, Jolingkong marks the last civilian-accessible point near Adi Kailash, making it a crucial destination for pilgrims and trekkers alike.

Jolingkong Uttarakhand – Gateway to Adi Kailash

Jolingkong, near Adi Kailash, hosts Indian Army and ITBP base camps, ensuring security close to the Indo–Tibet–Nepal tri-junction (approximately 40 km away). Due to its strategic location, civilians are permitted only up to Jolingkong.

Accommodation here is very limited, mostly basic guesthouses and temporary shelters, but the spiritual energy of the place more than compensates for the lack of luxury.

Jolingkong Lake (Parvati Sarovar)

One of the most sacred highlights of Jolingkong is Jolingkong Lake, also known as Parvati Sarovar.
According to local belief, Goddess Parvati bathed here while accompanying Lord Shiva on their journey to Mount Kailash.

The still waters of this sacred lake, reflecting Adi Kailash Parvat, create a deeply meditative atmosphere and make it one of the most photographed spiritual sites in Uttarakhand.
