Location and Connectivity:

Jewar International Airport is situated in the town of Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar District, Uttar Pradesh. Its strategic location near Greater Noida, close to the Yamuna River, makes it a significant addition to the region’s infrastructure. The airport aims to connect various cities in the NCR, including Agra, Mathura, Gurugram, Faridabad, and more, thereby enhancing regional connectivity.

The airport project is by the east of the Yamuna Expressway in the Gautam Buddh District. It is approximately 70 km from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. It will be seamlessly connected to Greater Noida through a new metro line and will boast a station on the ambitious 886 km Delhi – Varanasi High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) project.

Furthermore, there are plans to construct a 31 km road, overseen by NHAI, which will link the airport with the under-construction 1350 km Delhi – Mumbai Expressway (DMEx). In March 2021, both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh’s governments reached an agreement for land acquisition for this road, and by July 2022, NHAI had received 12 bids for its construction.

1. Construction Phases:

  • Phase 1: Development of Terminal 1 Building, Air Traffic Control System, Cargo Facility, Runway, and metro & high-speed rail stations.
  • Phase 2: Development of Terminal 2, a parallel taxiway, and a new runway.
  • Phase 3: Construction of Terminal 3, additional taxiways, rapid exit taxiways, and bays with apron expansion.
  • Phase 4: Construction of Terminal 4, exit taxiways, and cargo terminal expansion.

2. Runways:

Jewar Airport will feature six runways, making it India’s largest airport. There is also provision for two more runways, subject to land availability.

3. Investment Opportunities:

4. Aerotropolis Project:

8. Ownership and Operation:

Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) owns the airport, while Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) will operate it.
