Dark Sky Park Concept

The concept of Dark Sky Park in India is born to encourage astronomy and protect our view of the stars. Pench’s Deputy Director, Prabhu Nath Shukla, shared that this new status not only puts Pench on the national map but also on the international stage.

What is ” IUCN ” ?

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) recognizes the value of a dark sky for nature, culture, and history. To tackle the growing threat of light pollution globally, the Dark and Quiet Skies for Science and Society Working Group recommended the ‘First Dark Sky Reserve in India.
