Discover Chirbasa Village On The Way to Gaumukh Tapovan Trek

Chirbasa is a scenic location situated en route to Gaumukh, the source of the holy river Ganges. It is located at an altitude of about 3,600 meters above sea level and is approximately 9 kilometers from Gangotri. How To Reach

The trekking distance from Gangotri to Chirbasa is approximately 9 kilometers, which usually takes around 4 to 5 hours to complete. Along the way, you will be passing through dense forests of deodar and pine trees, and you will also be treated to some of the most stunning views of the Bhagirathi peaks..

Where to stay

The option is to camp in the area, as there are some designated camping sites . However, it’s important to note that camping equipment, including tents and sleeping bags, will need to be brought along as they are not generally available for rent in the area.

It’s important to keep in mind that accommodations  are limited and basic, so it’s recommended to plan and book in advance during the peak season
