After a closure of three months, the majestic gates of Chandrodaya Temple Mayapur is set to swing open on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. Devotees, pilgrims, and seekers from around the globe can once again embark on a journey of enlightenment at the heart of spiritual vibrancy—the birthplace of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

A Global Pilgrimage Hub

Known as the world headquarters of ISKCON, Chandrodaya Temple Mayapur attracts over 70 lakh people annually. This sacred site has been a sanctuary for those seeking solace, enlightenment, and a profound connection with the divine. However, the past year brought a shadow of gloom as the global pandemic disrupted the sacred gatherings and rituals that form the essence of this spiritual haven.

A Reawakening on Guru Purnima

The much-awaited reopening of Chandrodaya Temple Mayapur on Guru Purnima marks a significant moment of spiritual rejuvenation. Devotees will once again have the opportunity to bask in the divine presence of Sri Sri Radha Madhava and Astasakhis, Sri Sri Panca Tattva, and Sri Prahlad Nrisimha. The spiritual ambiance, temporarily interrupted, is set to resonate once more with the melodious tunes of Harinama Sankirtan.

Precautionary Measures and Spiritual Bliss

To ensure the safety of all visitors, a meticulous set of precautionary measures has been put in place. The temple will be open for darshan from 9 am to 7 pm, with entry allowed through designated gates. Vehicles will undergo thorough sanitization at the Gammon gate, and all visitors will pass through a screening process, including temperature checks and sanitization gates.

Wearing masks within the temple premises is mandatory, and a systematic crowd control mechanism has been implemented to maintain social distancing. CCTV cameras vigilantly monitor the movement of devotees, providing an additional layer of safety. Frequent sanitization of the temple premises, restaurants, and toilets ensures a hygienic environment.

A Month of Spiritual Nourishment

Free prasadam will be given every afternoon for a month, welcoming visitors to enjoy divine blessings and the joy of sharing together.

Sri Madhava Gauranga Das, Vice Chairman of Mayapur Administrative Council, expressed, “The safety of our devotees and visitors is of utmost importance to us. We took the time to ensure we have the necessary equipment and infrastructure to implement precautionary measures.”

As the gates of Chandrodaya Temple Mayapur reopen, it is not just a physical return but a spiritual homecoming—a reconnection with divinity and a celebration of the enduring human spirit in the face of challenges. May the divine grace of Guru Purnima illuminate the path for all those seeking solace and enlightenment at this sacred abode.
