The location of Birla Dharamshala in Ayodhya is undeniably superb, situated right on the main road and in close proximity to both Ram Janm Bhoomi and Hanuman Garhi. They also provide ample parking space for vehicles, making it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Ayodhya. For solo travelers or those on a tight budget, there are small single bed non-AC rooms on the ground floor for an economical Rs. 250.

A Pleasant Surprise

Upon arriving at Birla Dharamshala in Ayodhya, I was pleased to find a well-maintained property with a spacious layout. The location is excellent, right on the main road and close to Ram Janambhoomi and Hanuman Garhi. An Unexpected Disappointment

However, no review would be complete without mentioning a disappointing aspect of my stay. It’s disheartening to report that the manager of Birla Dharamshala in Ayodhya refused to offer a room to non-Indians, citing excessive paperwork as the reason. This discriminatory behavior is contrary to the principles of the Birla group, which is known for its services to humanity. Sadly, the manager didn’t seem interested in addressing our concerns, leaving us baffled and disappointed.

A Flaw in the System

Another concerning aspect of our stay was the lack of proper record-keeping during check-in. We were allowed to check in without providing any details, photo ID, or signatures. While this might seem convenient at first, it raised suspicions about the transparency of their operations. It wasn’t until check-out that we managed to get our names recorded in the register after a 45-minute argument with uncooperative staff. Even then, we were not provided a receipt for the room rent.
