Meet your trekking guide at the pickup location and begin your journey early in the morning, before dawn. Enjoy a scenic drive from Rishikesh to Kunjapuri Temple via the town of Narendra Nagar, following the Gangotri Highway.
The road from Rishikesh to Kunjapuri is winding throughout the journey. Guests who are prone to motion sickness are advised to take the necessary medication before departure. Although the drive is short, it takes approximately 45–60 minutes.
Sunrise at Kunjapuri Temple
Arrive before sunrise at the base parking area and climb approximately 350 steps to reach the top of Kunjapuri Temple. Witness breathtaking views as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the Himalayan peaks. Spend time exploring the revered Kunjapuri Devi Temple, capturing unforgettable photographs, meditating during sunrise, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, divine energy, and natural beauty from the hilltop.
From the top, the temple offers sweeping panoramic views of the Doon Valley, Rajaji National Park, Rishikesh, and the higher Himalayan ranges, making it one of the best sunrise viewpoints in Uttarakhand.
Downhill Trek
Begin your guided downhill trek through beautiful forest trails. The trek passes Pater Village, Dharkot Village, and Neer Waterfall. Choose the scenic 9 km Neer Waterfall route. Along the way, pass through mountain villages, peaceful landscapes, and refreshing waterfalls.
The trail is easy to moderate. Approximately 75% of the trail is easy, while the remaining section is tricky and moderately difficult. However, it is very rewarding and full of adventure, passing small water streams, lush green landscapes, tall Himalayan trees, grasslands, and offering distant views of the Ganges River.
Neer Waterfalls
In fact, Neer Waterfall is approximately 80 meters high. The waterfall is located about 2 kilometers uphill from the Badrinath Highway and is accessible by a motorable road up to the base of the waterfalls.
Neer Waterfall is known as the largest waterfall in Rishikesh. As soon as you arrive, you experience a sense of peace and joy. The waterfall cascades down through three to four levels, and visitors can enjoy bathing beneath the falls at each level.
For the convenience of tourists, there are also 15 to 20 shops nearby. Nestled amidst the forests, the waterfall attracts visitors with its natural beauty. Its cool, refreshing water and ample space for bathing have made Neer Waterfall a favorite destination for many.
