Chopta Tungnath Height is at an elevation of 2680 meters above sea level in the Rudraprayag district, Chopta valley has very rich in flora and fauna, especially for nature lovers. Chopta in Uttarakhand is known as Mini Switzerland. It has the spectacular view of ranges of mountains such as Chaukhamba, Trishul, and Nanda Devi.
The Deoriatal's elevations 2,438 m above sea level, is an add-on to the one-day Chopta to Chandrashila trek. The Deoriatal trek commences at a very small hamlet that is called Sari village which is 12 km far-off from Ukhimath Shiva temple. Here is Chopta Tungnath trek itinerary
Drive from Rishikesh to Sari village via Ukhimath – 190 Km by car – 6/ 8 hours. en-route visit Ukhimath Temple ( winter seat of Lord Kedarnath) Kedarnath temple. Overnight stay in the Guesthouse, Sari village.
Trek to Deoriatal – 3.5 Km – 2 hours. After lunch explores the lake and around. : Trek down to Sari village, check-out & have lunch then Drive to Chopta 20 Km/1 hour – Hike around Chopta in the afternoon. dinner with bonfire & overnight in established camp.
Tunganath Trek– 3. 5 Km – Climb to Chandrashila peak – 1.5 Km – Descent to Chopta – total 10 Km – 6/7 hours. Camp. Lunch on the way at some trackside small restaurant. Later, trek back to the campsite Chopta, dinner with bonfire and lighs-off.
Breakfast at the campsite, check-out and drive from Chopta to Rishikesh – 210 Km – 7/ 8 hours, en-rite visit Dhari Devi temple and Devprayag ( confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi river).
