This trek is famous for its stunning views, green meadows, and the sacred Tungnath Temple, which holds the title of the highest Shiva temple in the world! It’s also one of the Panch Kedar, the five holy shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva in Uttarakhand.

1. Best Season:
The best time to enjoy this trek is during the summer and autumn months, from April to November. It’s not a good idea to go in the winter because the area gets a lot of snow, making it hard to reach the temple.

2. Duration:
The Chopta-Tungnath Trek typically takes about 3 to 4 days to complete.

3. Difficulty Level:
This trek is of moderate difficulty, making it a great choice for both beginners and experienced trekkers.

4. Permits:
To trek in this area, you’ll need a permit from the Forest Department for entry into the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. These permits can be obtained in Ukhimath.
