Kota Village Trek is One Day Trek to the old traditional route to visit Himalayan village nearby Rishikesh. Kota village is the one of the best trek near Rishikesh. The total trek length of the Phool Chatti - Kota - Sirasu village is about 15 km. Normally we complete it in a day ( 7-8 hr )trek activity but depending on your speed.
The highlights include reaching the mountaintop village, an altitude of almost 1500 m, through Phool Chatti by crossing Helen river.
Gazing at the sun rising & setting over towering peaks of the Himalayas, leaves you awestruck, interacting with locals, observing their lifestyle, and having lunch with them. seems to me unmissable activity, when you are in Rishikesh.
Meditating in the ancient cave of Maharishi Vashist, swimming in the Ganges, visiting Ananda Lok Ashram & Temple along with Shiva Temple, what else do you need to have in one day tour?If you want to spend a night there, then leave your camping gear at home, there is a family who allows us to make overnight stays at his/her home.

One of the best ways to explore villages in Rishikesh is to trek the Himalayas mountains, put your bed to sleep under the sparkeling stars, admire the beauty of nature of mountains and exchange smiles with people in far-off village in Rishikesh.
The Kota village day starts in the morning just after breakfast, the private driver & local trek guide pick you up from your location at the scheduled hour & drive you away through a scenic road, Badrinath highway, along the bank of the Ganges up to Phool Chatti Ashram.
After reaching Ashram, the driver will drop you and your trek trip start from the confluence of the river Ganges & Helan river, crossing the wooden temporary bridge over Helan river and you disappear in the deep mystic mountains of the Himalayas. The trail runs along the bank of the Ganges from one mountaintop to another but you never miss the whooping sounds of the river and the mountains hook you up to the Jaintapuri mountaintop temple.
At the top, you spend the time as much as you love at a local house to be relaxed and assimilating the mystic deep silence of nature interacting with locals. later proceed by a downhill trek ( 1 km ) to Kota village, unbuckle your belongings and enjoy the distance view of the Ganges & towering peaks, have lunch with the locale and buckle up to get down for Vashist cave and Ashram.
After downhill descends, there is a point where you can swim in the river Ganges, continue walking by crossing a classical hanging bridge, where the driver will pick you all and drop you nearby the cave, spend your own time at the cave and later drive back to Rishikesh. Tour End.
