The Karni Mata Ropeway ride spans 387 meters using a fixed grip mono cable<\/strong>, with the cable car, also known as a Gondola, suspended in the air for transporting passengers.<\/p>\n

The cable cars take sightseers on a short 4-5 minute trip up the hill, offering breathtaking views of Udaipur, including Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake, the magnificent City Palace Complex, Sajjangarh Fort, and the Aravali mountains. There\u2019s also a popular viewpoint for watching the sunrise and sunset over the city.<\/strong><\/a> At night, the illuminated palaces offer a splendid view.<\/p>\n

Upon reaching the top via the cable car, visitors must walk up a few steps to reach the Karni Mata Temple, where a white stone idol of the goddess Karni Mata resides. Nearby, at Cannon Point, you can also visit a shrine dedicated to Pahad Wale Baba, also known as Malang Sarkar, along with the fort wall and an ancient warehouse featuring doors studded with spikes.<\/p>\n

    Karni Mata was a special lady who was both a warrior and a sage, born in the Charan caste. She\u2019s also known as Shri Karniji Maharaj and is honored as an incarnation of the warrior goddess Durga by her followers. She was very important to the royal families of Jodhpur and Bikaner and even helped build two major forts, Bikaner Fort and Mehrangarh Fort.<\/p>\n

    One of her most famous temples is in Deshnoke, near Bikaner in Rajasthan,<\/strong> where white rats are considered sacred and are protected. The temple doesn’t have a statue of Karni Mata; instead, it has her footprint to show where she visited. Karni Mata is also known as Nari Bai.<\/p>\n

    There\u2019s an interesting story about her:<\/strong> she was married to a man named Depoji Charan from Sathika village. However, she didn\u2019t want to stay married, so she helped her husband marry her younger sister, Gulab, while she stayed single her whole life.<\/p>\n

    At the temple, people believe that feeding the holy white rats brings good luck. It\u2019s also said that visiting the temple and praying in the morning and evening can make wishes come true and help you live a longer life.<\/p>\n

    How to Reach Kani Mata Temple<\/h3>\n

    To get to the Karni Mata Temple, you can either take a 10-minute walk up the stairs from Manikyalal Verma Park or use the ropeway. The ropeway is a fun ride that started in June 2009 and takes just 5 minutes to get to the temple. It connects the temple at Machla Hill Top with Deendayal Upadhyay Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n
