The <strong data-start=\"352\" data-end=\"360\">lake<\/strong> itself hides within it the <strong data-start=\"388\" data-end=\"408\">mystery of death<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"887\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">According to <strong data-start=\"426\" data-end=\"450\">mythological beliefs<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"463\">Yamaraj<\/strong> shared the <strong data-start=\"475\" data-end=\"494\">secret of death<\/strong> with <strong data-start=\"500\" data-end=\"525\">Rishi Kumar Nachiketa<\/strong> on the <strong data-start=\"533\" data-end=\"555\">banks of this lake<\/strong>. Therefore, this lake is named <strong data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"604\">Nachiketa Tal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"887\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Spread over an area of about <strong data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"652\">one kilometer<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"654\" data-end=\"671\">Nachiketa Tal<\/strong> is the <strong data-start=\"679\" data-end=\"712\">place of penance (tapasthali)<\/strong> of <strong data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"741\">Rishi Kumar Nachiketa<\/strong>, along with the <strong data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"771\">Nag Devta<\/strong>. The lake, elliptical in shape,<strong> measures about 200 meters in length and 30 meters<\/strong> in width at its broadest points, with a depth of 7 meters. It lies between latitude N 30\u00b0 27&#8242; and longitude E 71\u00b0 72&#8242;. The lake has no discernible inlet or outlet.<\/p>\n<h3>Floklores<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;According to <strong data-start=\"101\" data-end=\"125\">mythological beliefs<\/strong>, there was a <strong data-start=\"139\" data-end=\"148\">rishi<\/strong> named <strong data-start=\"155\" data-end=\"168\">Bajshrava<\/strong>. Once, while performing a <strong data-start=\"195\" data-end=\"216\">yajna (sacrifice)<\/strong>, he was giving <strong data-start=\"232\" data-end=\"252\">cows in donation<\/strong>, but the cows he was donating were those that <strong data-start=\"299\" data-end=\"320\">did not give milk<\/strong>. Then his son <strong data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"348\">Nachiketa<\/strong> felt bad and said, <em data-start=\"368\" data-end=\"447\">\u2018If someday I am also of no use to you, then to whom will you <strong data-start=\"431\" data-end=\"441\">donate<\/strong> me?\u2019<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Then <strong data-start=\"93\" data-end=\"112\">Rishi Bajshrava become angry and<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"128\" data-end=\"147\">donated his son<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"151\" data-end=\"162\">Yamaraj<\/strong>. According to <strong data-start=\"177\" data-end=\"188\">beliefs<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"190\" data-end=\"203\">Nachiketa<\/strong> reached <strong data-start=\"212\" data-end=\"222\">Yamlok<\/strong> (the abode of Yama), but not finding <strong data-start=\"260\" data-end=\"271\">Yamaraj<\/strong> there, he <strong data-start=\"282\" data-end=\"307\">waited for three days<\/strong> for him.
