The nearest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport whereas the nearest railway is Dehradun. One can reach this hill station from here either through the bus or cab based on the individual budget and comfort.

Rule for Visiting Chakrata

A foreign citizen has to take special permission to enter the Chakrata hill station as it is the military base here. If you’re traveling through a private vehicle it is advisable to make sure your vehicle has sufficient fuel throughout the journey. It should be noted that there are no fuel stations in the Chakrata region.

If you plan to visit this amazing hill station during the monsoon, it would be better to be a bit careful as it is a hill station, land sliding is possible and the route will be slippery.

Chakrata local hotels are the best options for local food as it doesn’t have any fancy restaurants here.

Aull is a village which is located in the Chakrata district of Uttarakhand at a distance of only 8 km from Chakrata which contains many beautiful houses here.

Mountain climbing is very popular at the Chakrata hill station. Undoubtedly, it is the highest mountain peak in the hill station which is 10,000 feet above sea level. Auli village is 8 km far from Chakrata Town is the most beautiful village I have seen so far.

The Tigre Fall – the biggest waterfall of Uttarakhand state of India. You may have seen many waterfalls in India but this is unique with unmatched natural beauty.

Mahasu Devata Temple – An ancient temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is the holiest place for locals.

Kanasar Trekking -Trail is the best adventure activity in Chakrata like Rappeling Mountian climbing Trekking, Ziplining,

Tigre Waterfall is a bone-chilling adventure for adrenaline adventure enthusiasts.

Kimona Waterfall – The Waterfall is the best in Uttarakhand for waterfall Rappelling. Do not miss when you visit Chakrata. It is just 2 km far from the town Chakrata.

Winter skiing The Chakrata is also popular for winter skiing sports in the state. Many tourists travel to Chakrata for winter sports.

Whoever visits this place will be perplexed by the Jaunsari homes which have vibrant colors and unique architecture.
