1– Haridwar-Temple Triangle

The goddess Maya Devi completes the trio along with Mansa Devi Temple and Chandi Devi Temple. So if you are in Haridwar on a pilgrimage of Chardham Yatra, you can not miss paying homage to these three temples visit these temples.  Among these three goddesses,  the goddess Maya Devi is said to be the pinnacle of holiness.

Maya Devi Temple

The goddess in the temple is a divine incarnation in the form of Shakti. The Goddess has  heads and four arms here. Haridwar was previously called Mayapuri in honor of this goddess because here, her navel and heart fell at this very location where the temple stands today. The temple  is one of the 52 holy Siddhapeethas in India.

Haridwar is home to three Siddhapeethas, and the other two are the Chandi Devi Temple and the Mansa Devi Temple. The temple’s history dates back to the 11th century, and it holds immense religious significance in India’s spiritual heritage.

Chandi Devi Temple 

The Chandi Devi Temple is of the goddess Chandi Devi is approximately 5 km away from the famous Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar. Chandi Devi is also considered the presiding deity to the east of Haridwar. Many pilgrims and visitors believe that their visit to Haridwar would be incomplete without paying a visit to the Chandi Devi Temple.

Mansa Devi Temple 

The Temple lies on the top of the hillock at a 3 km distance from Har-ki Pauri Ghat. The devotees often take staircases to reach the temple, but there is a cable car service to access the temple. 

It is a holy temple where desires get fulfilled.  The devotees & tourists come here across the country and the world  also to pay homage and seek the blessings of goddess Mansa Devi;

The Goddess Kunjapuri completes the Triangle along with goddess Chandarbadani & goddess Surkanda Devi. Chandrabadani Temple

Chandrabadani temple lies on the mountaintop like Kunjapuari Temple at an elevation of 2,277m from sea level. The temple location marks the borderline between  Devaprayag and Pratapnagar Tehsil.  The temple is widely famous all over the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It is about just 15 km away from the Deprayag Town, Badrinath Highway.

The myth rolls out there that the upper part of the body of goddess Sati fell at this place and her weapons also.  Thus, even today a vast amount of Trishul and few statues are lying.

Surkanda Devi Temple 

Surkanda Devi is a famous temple located near the popular hill station Kanatal in the Garhwal Himalayas. The temple lies at an impressive height of about 2,756 meters above sea level, and it’s only 8 kilometers away from the well-liked hill stations of Dhanaulti and Chamba.

As per a mythological tale, it is said that the head of Goddess Sati fell at this special place, and that’s why it’s called Surkanda Devi or Sirkhanda Devi.

Kunjapuri Temple 

Kunjapuri Temple is one of the 51 sacred Shaktipeethas in the beautiful land of Uttarakhand. It’s located just 28 kilometers from Rishikesh on the Gangotri Highway. The temple sits at an elevation of 1,665 meters above sea level. This temple offers breathtaking view of the sunrise in the morning and beautiful vistas of the peaks of the Himalayas near Rishikesh.
